Nina Brown came to Salem to review a luxury hotel. She expected a beautiful room, a few ghost stories, and enough Halloween atmosphere to fill her article. She did not expect one of the ghosts to show up.

The newly opened Salem Majestic Hotel has a troubled past, and Nina can see more of it than most guests. She has spent years trying to keep her unusual abilities under control. A weekend with her best friend Holly and their impeccably dressed French bulldog, Jasper, seems like a good reason to set those worries aside.

Then a reckless game with a Ouija board releases a spirit from the 1920s. The ghost has no intention of remaining a visitor. It wants to take over the body of someone Nina has grown close to, and local witches warn that the possession will happen at midnight during the Halloween séance.

To save him, Nina must uncover what happened at the hotel and use the powers she would rather ignore. With Halloween closing in, she has little time to decide how far she’ll go to stop a ghost determined to live again.
